All As One

This piece depicts king shags, a bird endemic to New Zealand where I resided for a short period. They rule the coast lines and live harmoniously with both the sea and the people that live on the coast. This piece commemorates that living together with wildlife is not only possible, but beautiful too.
Limited edition print, 25 editions.
Dimensions shown include 1″ white border which includes print number, artwork title, and artist signature.

Between Two Worlds

This piece is about being a foreigner, as many of us have been. I come from the big robust channel cats of the red and Assiniboine river but have been carried off by my lover who is represented by the endemic wood pigeon of New Zealand.
Limited edition print, 25 editions.
Dimensions shown include 1″ white border which includes print number, artwork title, and artist signature.

Giselle Peters
Big Government
$750.00
Big Government is a main character in my analogy of contemporary society. He has two heads to represent his contradictory messages. One head says what the public wants to hear while the other expresses his true demands, often in spite of the good of the people.

Jazz Aline

Jazz Aline
Braided Streams

This piece was created during a time of deep pain and grief. I had been betrayed by someone I loved. I felt like all the faces of my person were crying all at once for different reasons. I wanted to turn that pain into something beautiful to end the suffering I felt.

Bras D’Huard

This piece is for the loons. Such a gorgeous water bird with the most haunting song ever sung. Those who have heard it will carry it forever. It is mournful and provokes visions, memories, and a warmth in the heart. Bras D’Huard means the arms of the loon, capable of holding all who hear or see them.
Limited edition print, 25 editions.

Michele Taras
Candy Stripes
$650.00
Michele Taras prefers to paint with acrylics. She paints directly onto the canvas, and any blending is done there. Her paintings have a striking colour combination and a style that is easily recognizable. She believes strongly that in art there are no rules. Art must speak from the heart. In a time where social media makes it is easy to be influenced by other’s painting techniques and subject matter, Taras relies heavily on images from her imagination.

Jazz Aline
Chant du Pelican
$100.00
This piece is about the beautiful pelicans that migrate to Manitoba and how they resemble the people of that land. Humans migrate in our own away, always finding home in the places we settle. Chant du Pelican means “song of the pelican”, the beautiful noise of birds and people when they come together in a familiar place.
Limited edition print, 25 editions.
Dimensions shown include 1″ white border which includes print number, artwork title, and artist signature.

Come Blowing Your Own Horn
$775.00
Named after the story of Little Boy Blue, this piece is a facetious look at advertising culture and the inflated images that often accompany that which lacks integrity, authenticity, or quality.

Cœur de Corbeau
$160.00
This piece is a self-portrait. I am shown having crows flying and flowing within my body and emerging through my mouth with tears pouring over my cheeks. I suffer from body dysmorphia, some years much more severe than others. I wage war on my body despite all it has done for me. This piece honours those moments of freedom when BD is not clouding my eyes and I am able to see myself and my body as beautiful and capable. That moment of freedom and sadness from the wounds I have caused my body, when it has done nothing but serve me. C≈ìur de Corbeau means “heart of the crow”, an intelligent bird that is family oriented and can be very noise and abrasive. I’ve always had a bit of a loud voice, deep and with crow-like laughter.
Limited edition print, 25 editions.
Dimensions shown include 1″ white border which includes print number, artwork title, and artist signature.

Entering the Colour World I
$1,850.00
Entering the Colour World is a series of paintings where the emphasis is made mainly on colour. Most of my works are created with a restrained palette, mostly in a monochrome style, where shades and tones prevail over open colours. In this series, my focus was on a bright, lively palette, with juicy and deep colours. A new style of broad stroke emerged during the work on this series.
